    Description

This item is set up for customer pickup, but we can work together to get this item delivered to your facility, if you want this machine.
This sale is for a custom built c.n.c. lathe with 2 servo controlled axis. If you've ever wanted to own a high quality C.N.C lathe with long capacity, this is your chance. You won't find another one at a better price! The work piece capacity is up to 96" length x 12" diameter. If you are a hand turner who would just like to own a very large lathe with precision spindle control, this is your lathe! If you want to just turn a cylinder, for hand work, this is easy to do, and will ease you into the programing aspect. You can do turnings from small to large, and even face turnings with included bed rest. The knife axis can be rotated to various angles for different types of cuts. The cutting tool (knife), is readily available from the metal working industry. It uses a standard "V" shaped cutter that can be resharpened. At the far end of the machine is pictured an automatic turning stabilizer (see photo) which can be positioned between the drive spindle and the live center, to be used as a steady rest. The lathe comprises two delta lathe beds which can accept drive spindle motors, tail stocks, and accessories from Delta, or several other manufactures. This can allow for the right side to be used for turning a part, while the left side is being used for sanding. (two work stations in one)
This sale includes a high c.f.m. dust collector that will keep your work area cleaner, and more enjoyable to work around. The dust collector has a built in filter cleaner which stopped working due to a timer malfunction. We bypassed the filter, and piped the exhausted into a large bin which had a cyclone separator. If the new owner wants to use the auto filter cleaner, a small inexpensive part will have to be purchased and installed. The filter may also be cleaned periodically with an air hose from the outside, in which case the auto device is not needed.
Pictured above, is just a sampling of different turnings that were done on this machine
The machine was manufactured by our company and has the latest computer motion control components available today. The legs of this machine are filled with sand, and each leg rests on shock absorbing pads which help control vibration.
The machine uses a Galil motion controller, and Advance Motion Control programmable servo drives. The motion controller resides in a  p.c.i. slot, in a standard Dell computer.  As with all motion controllers, it has a native programing language. This controller uses "D.M.C." commands sent via a terminal interface and a keyboard. Complete parts programs can be downloaded, and run as well. This is not the only method of interfacing with the controller. A company called "Camsoft". makes a very capable software which is compatible with the Galil controller. With their software you can enter programs using g-code language or you can use their cad program to create a motion path on a computer screen. The software can also import various cad designs done using other software. Link:

You do not need  to purchase additional software to operate the machine in C.N.C. mode, however, you will need to become familiar with the native language.
Except for some chipped paint, and light rust in some places,  this machine is fully functional, and was used by our company to manufacture porch columns, table legs, finials, balusters etc. This particular C.N.C. offers the best of both Worlds. Hand turners can use the automated part to turn a cylinder, and then do hand work on the rest of the work piece if needed.  Replacement parts are readily available and there are numerous repair shops that cater to c.n.c. technology.
Included also in the sale, is a 4 hour training session on any subjects the buyer might want discussed in regards to this machine.
Phone assistance following the sale will also be available, as the new buyer becomes familiar with the machine.
It's understandable that anyone considering the purchase of this machine, would want to do an inspection, and see a demonstration. Please see terms below.
