Duke Ellington’s
January 1972 Japanese concert tour with an ensemble that consisted of Cootie Williams, Harold Johnson, Mercer Ellington, John Coles, trumpet; Chuck Connors, Malcolm Taylor, Booty Wood, trombone; Russell Procope, Harold Minerve, Norris Turney, Harold Ashby, Paul Gonsalves, Harry Carney, reeds; Joe Benjamin, acoustic double bass; and Rufus Jones, drums. Duke Ellington died of lung cancer and pneumonia on 24th May, 1974, a month after his 75th birthday.
In original, pictorial coated wrappers, staple bound, 25.7 x 36.4 cm, 40 pp.
