Scarce original vintage concert program produced for jazz giants
John Coltrane
and
Dizzy Gillespie’s
joint Nov 1961 British tour, presented by Harold Davison in association with Norman Granz. Coltrane’s band for the tour featured alto saxophonist and flautist Eric Dolphy, pianist McCoy Tyner, bassist Reggie Workman and drummer Elvin Jones. Dizzy was accompanied by alto saxophonist Leo Wright, pianist Lalo Schisrin, bassist Robert Cunningham, and drummer Mel Lewis. Uncommon.
In original green and black pictorial wrappers, featuring artwork by David Stone Martin, staple bound, 21.0 x 26.7 cm, 20 pp. Program notes by jazz critic Benny Green.
