horseshoe from the Phoenix Manufacturing Company's former Joliet, Illinois manufacturing plant.
This brand new, never used horseshoe came from my grandfather, an employee of that Joliet-area Phoenix plant before it closed down. He kept it as a keepsake in storage for decades, only to be very recently unearthed by yours truly. It required only some very light cleaning to bring it to its current state, as seen in the photos.
Not only is it a rare horseshoe for collectors, it's also a fantastic piece of Joliet regional memorabilia for the history buffs out there. Add it to your collection before someone else snaps it up!
