    Description

    Sold as-is for parts/repair, no returns/refunds.
For sale in this listing is the cassette-up compartment or carriage from a Sony VO-9800 videocassette recorder/player, it includes the belt which looks pretty good but is untested.
It does not include the clear plastic dust cover flip-down door that is so often missing (because they break off, Sony has an incredible affinity for plastic even on K machines, I think I do have one or two I can list if I remove them from the other machines), but is otherwise complete.
This listing is the introduction to a lot of Sony U-Matic VTR/editor/player parts I will be listing here on eBay.
It will be most useful if people can request parts to be listed.
For your reference I have attached a high resolution photo of five Sony U-Matic VTR/editor/players that Synhouse has just received and will be parting out as rapidly as possible due to lack of space and lack of desire to warehouse things that aren't working anymore.
Please make the requests quickly so that I can get the parts listed, before having to take them apart too far and start throwing away the stripped chassis bases.
Please see the last photo in the gallery. From the top down, you can see the VP-7020, VO-9800, VO-9800, VO-9850, and VO-9600* on the bottom.
*Actually, the VO-9600 is a complete and fairly good working machine that needs some parts that I probably have, and all of these are mostly clean aside from being stripped. I will surely check and fix that machine to sell for top dollar if I can (I've sold ,245.00 worth of U-Matic decks here on eBay in the five days prior to posting this listing, so I'm known as a top rated, top dollar seller of the best gear on eBay, selling as-is for nothing is a last resort only).
Also note that in this lot I have a Sony pro VTR/player top lid that has two large recessed slotted head chrome screws to hold it, but it doesn't go to any of these machines. It's flat, does not go down the right/left sides. It can be listed for someone that needs it.
I didn't show the front side of these decks because there's almost nothing there. Just some meters, pots, switches, etc.. One of the VO-9800s has a complete lower editor panel with the shuttle wheel on it. I don't know if it works, but I can test it because I have lots of Sony U-Matic machines in stock (and one VO-9800 will be listed soon). Otherwise the four parts decks here don't have the front plastic parts. I can't imagine they were used, I think they were just removed to access parts and left off and discarded when the studio cleaned out and eventually sold these to Synhouse.
I was hoping to get a lot of parts I need for my own machines now, but, unfortunately, these were picked over by people a lot smarter than me and there's not a lot left. However, this must have been almost 20 years ago when they still had a good supplier of the parts I need most now (pinch rollers, pinch roller assembly parts, belts), because they left those in there.
I will note that at least two of these decks have that top flip-up PCB marked as "bad board", which is funny, because I've had many, many of these same models and never had one of those boards that was bad. Usually just the white twist latches are missing (Sony couldn't spring for captive metal thumbscrews like a Lexicon 224, etc.), but the board is working. These came from an L.A. post production house where my truthtelling ex-wife used to work (maybe still does, as long as she's not terrorizing me, it's all good).
Three of them have the long boards in the card cage down the side.
Sadly, the VP-7020 has the power supply missing, I'd use that in a New York minute if it had it, will swap one of the bigger, more expensive VO-98x0 power supplies for it if you have one, and I do have the ability to test those power supplies if necessary.
Basically on price, here's what I'm thinking: I won't sell any part for less than , I'm running a business here and it's not worth the company time. I went through this selling some DA-88 parts/parts machines last year, people expect to spend and have me spend two hours dismantling the machine, leaving it an absolute basket case of crap no one else would want.
If someone is buying a few things, I MIGHT let them add in a plastic/metal arm or spring, but I'm not going to have those listed by themselves. It's nothing under , and some items obviously much more. I seem to have three pinch rollers that are good and rubbery, not perfect looking but will handle tape perfectly for years to come, so for those and if someone doesn't want them I will use them myself, the last time I needed one it cost me a lot more time and money than that.
Just write and ask about what you need.
If someone is local and wants the stripped out shells for very cheap, or wants to buy the whole parts machine for fairly cheap, I'm here in town in the Los Feliz district and I can work out a local pickup. No way under the eBay rules to do that meeting for inspection or preview without a completed sale.
    Shipping
This will be safely packed for shipment. This is a fairly heavy item, valuable and delicate. I will pack it into a cardboard carton.
Free local pickup in the Los Feliz district of L.A. is okay if you can
    work around my busy schedule.
USA shipping only, unless you use the eBay Global Shipping Program.
Please see my other listings for other Sony video players, recorders, and broadcast monitors might be of interest.
I will be listing at least a few of my Sony video decks soon, maybe several, some are already listed, possibly including (1) Sony VO-5600 U-Matic, (1) Sony VO-5800 U-Matic, VO-9800 U-Matic SP recorder, (1) VP-9000 U-Matic SP player, (1 or 2) DMR-4000 (this is a U-Matic deck optimized for digital PCM audio recording with the Sony PCM-1630), (1) UVW-1800 Betacam SP recorder w/Michael Sellman LTD 4-channel audio extender mod, (1) BVW-22 Betacam SP player, (1) BVW-65 Betacam SP player, (3) BVW-75 Betacam SP recorder, (1) DVW-500 Digital Betacam SP recorder, (2) DVW-A500 Digital Betacam SP recorder. All I really need is one of each format, but I have so many.
I also have a ton of absolutely mint condition BNC cables, including some Belden Brilliance RGB sets. Also BNC patch bays and everything for older analog video. At least 10-15 Avid Media Composers. One of the first Chyrons ever made in beautiful cosmetic condition but untested. Lots of broadcast monitors, not even sure how many but for sure a Barco CVS 51, Ikegami TM14-16R, (2) Ikegami TM20-16R, Panasonic WV-5200BU triples in rack mount, a Sony PVM-1271Q Trinitron multiformat broadcast monitor. I can't easily tell because all are in flight cases that are stacked in the warehouse, most I haven't even seen in 14 years.
