Vintage, Large Old Mexico Steer Horn Hat Rack, I
nscribed "Souvenir Juarez Old Mexico" and Flowers,
Prob. 1930-60s
This fancy vintage steer horn hanging hat rack features 2 large horns, 2 small horns, and a pair of stuffed cornucopia-shaped containers for hat pins.  A central horn plaque is inscribed "Souvenir Juarez Old Mexico."  The large horns are also inscribed "JUAREZ MEX". The mounting and back plate are wrapped in a peach colored flannel-like fabric and wrapped with decorative tape.  These turn up throughout Texas and the Southwest and make a folky and functional decoration.
Dimensions:  33-1/4" wide, 12-1/4" tall, 8 3/4" max. depth
Condition:  Very Good; intact and sturdy with no restoration including the original peach color flannel-like cloth coverings and decorative tape. The 2 cornucopia shaped horn containers for hat pins have lost several tips of the petal-cut tops (see photos).
