    Description

Posted for your consideration is this early "hook handled", pre "Kan O Seat" logo cane/chair made by Stafford Johnson of Ionia, Michigan. This item was gifted to Lilly Claire Faust ( L.C.F. on seat back ) from her grandparents vacationing at Oaklawn Hotel & Racetrack in Hot Springs, Arkansas as also dated on back. The Fausts were well known around St. Louis. Leicester, Lilly Claire's father was St. Louis restaurateur Tony Faust's grandson and who, with wife Mary eventually gifted their Chesterfield, MO property to St. Louis County - now known as Faust Park. This souvenir was acquired and owned by my grandparents who were employed by the Fausts in the late 1940's and early 50's and residents at the Chesterfield, MO "Thornhill" estate. This historic souvenir operates as designed and is quite serviceable. Photos are considered primary source of cosmetic condition description. All items are securely packed and usually ship same or next business day. No reserve!
